FOR STAFF:

1. Connect to the SSID - Staff@..
2. The new windows will be prompted, or open your Web browser (Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome)

3. The Captive Portal Page will appear and prompt for your username and password.

        Username: Staff Ecom ID

        Password: Staff Ecom Password

FOR STUDENT:

1. Connect to the SSID Student@..

2. The new windows will be prompted, or open your Web browser (Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome)

3. The Captive Portal Page will appear and prompt for your username and password.

        Username: Matric No / Student Ecom ID

        Password: Pin no / Student Ecom Password

FOR GUEST:

1. Connect to the SSID Guest@..

2. The new windows will be prompted, or open your Web browser (Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome)

3. The Captive Portal Page will appear and prompt for your username and password.

        Username: (Ask PIC or PTJ)

        Password: (Ask PIC or PTJ)

First time login

1. Login to https://www.gmail.com

2. Username : <your full e-mail address> (example: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

3. Password : 
         < For Malaysian, your IC number without dash> (example : 770605061333)

< For Non-Malaysian, your passport number, followed by asterisk (*) character> (example: P121234*)

4. Click Next to proceed.

5. Please read and click I accept and continue to my account.

7. To access your email apps, go to top right menu and and select Email icon.

DEVICE SETTING

You can access Gmail using e-mail clients and mobile devices.

By using Google Apps, now you can connect to your Gmail account using variety email clients and mobile devices.

Google Apps recommend IMAP protocol when connecting to Gmail.

Read Gmail messages on other email clients using IMAP

You can read your messages from Gmail in other mail clients, like Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail, using IMAP. When you use IMAP, you can read your Gmail messages on multiple devices, and messages are synced in real time.

Set up IMAP

Step 1: Check that IMAP is turned on

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settings.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  5. In the "IMAP Access" section, select Enable IMAP.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Change your IMAP settings in your email client

Use the table below to update your client with the correct information. For help updating your settings, search your email client's Help Center for instructions on setting up IMAP.

Full Name or Display Name Your name

(This step only can be done starting 5th March 2016)

1. Sign to UMP email at Gmail using your UMP email address (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

2. Click the Gear  icon at the top right 

3. Select Settings.

4. Click Account tab and then select Add a POP3 mail account you own.

5. Add your email address. Please change domain ump.edu.my to ump.my .For example, if your email is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., please change it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Refer image below

6. Fill all the information. Refer image below
          Username : < your existing UMP E-Mail username>
          Password : < your existing UMP E-Mail password>
          POP server : pop.ump.edu.my
          
Port :995

  •  Tick the options Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retreiving mail
  • If you forgot existing email password, please request to reset your password using ICT Complaint Management system

        Then, click Add Account

7. Select option No and then click Finish
